Ronu Miah - Director, Castalia Consulting Limited

Ronu is an established sports business executive with over two decades industry experience.  He has worked for some of the biggest players in the business including Sky Sports, TEAM Marketing, BT Sport, beIN Media Group and Football Marketing Asia. 

 

Over the course of his career Ronu has made a significant contribution to the development of the global sports business sector, working with leading international federations, national governing bodies, broadcasters, agencies and clubs on new product and channel launches, competition format innovations, major rights acquisitions, global partnerships and the development of new sports properties. Ronu has served on boards, management teams, steering committees and has acted as general counsel and chief legal officer.  His roles have taken him across the globe.  He has lived and worked in London, Switzerland and Hong Kong.  

 

Ronu has a keen interest in sports commercial programmes including event hosting, media rights, sponsorship, licensing, IP and rights protection. Ronu has helped devise new commercial concepts and programmes for major sporting properties. He has supported broadcasters navigate sports rights tender processes for some of the most high-profile sports properties including FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League and the Olympic Games.  In the emerging sports space, Ronu has contributed to the successful launch of new sports properties such as Premier Padel and the E1 World Championship.

 

Ronu is highly regarded by his peers.  Over the course of his career he has established a global network of sports industry contacts nurtured through long term relationships based on trust and transparency.

 

Ronu is passionate about ensuring the next generation of sports business leaders come from a diverse background.  He is a founding mentor for Diversity in the Business of Sport (DiBS), an annual mentoring programme for young business professionals from ethnically diverse communities. DiBS is actively engaged in advocating EDI in sports business through corporate partnerships, events and a growing global network of engaged alumni.

 

Ronu trained as a lawyer at City law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.  He has an MBA from Bayes Business School, City St Georges, University of London.
